Save the date: Interdisciplinary Hand Symposium

Dear EmpkinS members,

the Interdisciplinary Hand Symposium will take place on the 4th and 5th of October 2023 at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light, Staudtstr. 2, 91058 Erlangen (https://mpl.mpg.de/study-work-or-visit/how-to-find-us).

With this event, the Institute of Applied Dynamics and the Department of Internal Medicine 3 – Rheumatology and Immunology together with the CRC 1483 EmpkinS aim to reflect on the current state in the areas of clinical and biomechanical research on the human hand. In particular, the connection between these areas shall be strengthened.

Keynote speakers address current research in inflammatory arthritis, hand surgery and therapy, biomechanical modelling and simulation, as well as visualising and sensing the hand. The symposium also includes a specific session for young researchers, to present their student theses or early Ph.D. works. Please note that attendance is mandatory EmpkinS doctoral candidates.
