New member of the EmpkinS family
Hi, I’m Xiumei Li, but you can also call me Daria. I started my doctoral research at the Chair of Multimedia Communications and Signal Processing (LMS) at FAU in April. I’m originally from China and completed my master’s degree here at FAU as well.
Currently, I’m working on FP2 of subproject B01, focusing on developing deep learning-based compression algorithms for multimodal human body hull data. I’m looking forward to making a real contribution to the EmpkinS project, developing new skills, and working together with colleagues from different backgrounds.
In my free time, I like discovering new places and spending time in nature. I enjoy trying different kinds of food, whether at restaurants or cooking at home. Music is important to me—I love singing and often listen to new songs or go to live music events when possible. Outside of that, I like meeting new people and learning about different cultures and perspectives, which is one reason I’m happy to be part of such an international team.
Welcome to EmpkinS, Xiumei! 😊
