Introduction to iRTG

The Integrated Research Training Group (iRTG) is promoting young researchers within EmpkinS.

The iRTG provides a structured framework for the scientific education of young researchers from the Faculties of Engineering, Medicine and Science. It promotes the development of their scientific profile and prepares them for careers as researchers.

A common standard of education is established for all the doctoral candidates, postdocs, and clinician scientists by means of a structured supporting program. Each doctoral candidate has two supervisors who are principle investigators of the sub-projects in EmpkinS. In addition, iRTG ensures equal opportunities for all doctoral candidates. A highlight will be the winter school during the first funding period and the opportunity for a financed research stay abroad as announced in semiannual calls.

The iRTG coordination team supports all aspects regarding the scientific education of the EmpkinS young researchers and consists of the PI, Prof. Dr. Bjoern Eskofier, the Coordinator, and the representatives of the young researchers and the PIs.

Prof. Dr. Bjoern Eskofier and the iRTG Coordinator in particular are the contact persons for all questions relating to the iRTG.
