„Small Steps“ on the big screen
Last year, in collaboration with Prof. Jürgen Winkler and the clinical DFG research group KFO 5024 (GB.com) at UKER, we had the great honor of welcoming Schlosstheater Thurnau to the E-Werk in Erlangen. Through a powerful and moving play on Parkinson’s disease, the ensemble offered an authentic portrayal of the challenges, hopes, and resilience that shape life with the condition. The performance not only provided valuable insights but also encouraged the audience to reflect on their own lives.
The personal story of Wolfgang Krebs, director of Schlosstheater Thurnau, and his life with the neurodegenerative disorder Parkinson’s disease has now been adapted for the screen. The film “Kleine Schritte – A Life with Parkinson’s” premiered on January 16, 2026, at Schlosstheater Thurnau and is expected to be broadcast on television as well as screened in Parkinson’s centers and clinics throughout the year.
