On October 20th in our Lecture Series Dr. sport.science Anna-Maria Liphardt gave an insight into her reasearch about “Hand function in inflammatory arthritis”.
Inflammatory rheumatic diseases affect physical function in general and very often hand function is impaired. Although hand function in rheumatoid arthritis is well studied, comparison with other arthritic diseases, as well as an objective identification of disease-specific characteristics of hand function, is sparse. In this talk, aspects of hand function in different patient groups were summarized and the potential of EmpkinS technology for monitoring disease activity in inflammatory arthritis was discussed.
