Space tourism is soon expected to become a reality. Until now, stays in space have been limited to a few weeks or months – only in exceptional cases exceeding 1 year. The adaptation processes in the human body for this duration are well-researched. With new destinations like the Moon or Mars, the duration of flights will also increase. Does our current knowledge suffice to send astronauts into the universe for longer periods without concerns?
