From the 11th to the 15th of March, scientists from all across our CRC participated in the second EmpkinS IRTG Winter School in St.-Peter-Ording!

Organized by a team of young researchers, the EmpkinS IRTG Winter School provided workshops on scientific writing by Dr. Anna-Maria Liphardt and Media Training by Julia Binsack as well as an interactive talk from Dr. Tobias Eismann on “creativity in industry and research”.On Thursday afternoon, the doctoral candidates presented the current state of their sub-projects. But unlike usual, the young researchers didn’t present their own project, but introduced the status update of another doctoral candidate. Although there was little time to prepare, the PowerPoint karaoke worked excellently and led to an outstanding interdisciplinary exchange.

In addition to the scientific program, there was also time to explore the beautiful region of the North Sea. We visited the birds and seals in the Westküstenpark and had a great mudflat hiking tour together.

Thanks again to all of the organizers who filled five days with interesting workshops and lectures as well as fun teambuilding events in St.-Peter-Ording.
