Luca Abel’s recent paper, ‚Body Movements as Biomarkers: Machine Learning-Based Prediction of HPA Axis Reactivity to Stress,‘ published in Psychoneuroendocrinology, has been highlighted in the journal as an Editor’s Choice.

See here the Editor’s Choice Commentary:
Can our movements reveal our stress levels? A new study explores this question using machine learning to analyze body movements during a psychosocial stress test. The research revealed that movement patterns, especially of the head and hands, can be used to partially predict a person’s cortisol response, a key biomarker of stress. These findings suggest that full-body motion detection could be a powerful, non-invasive tool for assessing stress. This innovative approach could lead to new wearable technologies that provide real-time contactless stress monitoring and help improve stress management and mental health interventions.

Congratulations to Luca and his co-authors on this remarkable achievement!
