EmpkinS Grant Proposal Writing Workshop
Wrap-up of the first EmpkinS Grant Proposal Writing Workshop!
Securing funding for research projects is increasingly challenging, so we aim to support our doctoral researchers from the very beginning. On January 29, 2026, Prof. Nic Rohleder introduced the landscape of grant application types, clarified key formal requirements, and shared best practices for crafting competitive proposals. He also explained the U.S.-common “one-pager”—a concise, single-page pitch and outlined the 4 W’s of a strong proposal.
Participants then put these insights into practice in several hands-on exercises, drafting and refining one-pagers and proposal sections, and receiving targeted peer feedback. The session concluded with clear takeaways on structure, messaging, and reviewer-oriented framing—setting a solid foundation for upcoming submissions.
A successful kickoff to the EmpkinS Writing Workshops! Many thanks to Nic for the excellent support and to everyone for their active participation.
