Hereâs the core idea in brief: By placing language and norms at the core of the discourse on epistemic injustice in bioethics, our approach aims to advance the understanding of epistemic injustice and pave the way for addressing such injustices. Reflecting on language and its inherent norms, both in dialogue with those affected, such as ME/CFS patients, and in institutional frameworks, and incorporating the critical examination of language and its inherent norms into bioethical research, can support efforts toward epistemic justice. Therefore, emphasizing the role of language in bioethics offers a crucial potential toward promoting epistemic justice.
