Workshop on research data preservation
On June 11, EmpkinS hosted a workshop on research data preservation. The session addressed why research data should be preserved, and discussed which data to retain and in what form. Participants explored what metadata are essential for discoverability and FAIR compliance, how to choose a suitable repository, and which licenses support lawful and open reuse. Practical guidance on folder structures, file naming, and versioning rounded out the program. The workshop also included a refresher on the EmpkinS Study Registry, and highlighted key steps for documentation and data archiving.
Special thanks to Marcus Walther (FAU CDI), Aliya Nauroth-Kreß (UKER CuBiDa) and Jan Schür (EmpkinS RDM) for leading the session, and to Sophie Fleischmann for sharing a best-practice example. And a big thank you to everyone who joined our workshop!
