Status Seminar

The status seminars ensure the appropriate supervision of doctoral candidates. They are quarterly and every second time with the supervisors.

There are different formats of the status seminar, like poster presentations of all young researchers or individual meetings of doctoral candidates with their supervisors. All of them have in common, that the young researchers present the current status of their doctoral project and the next steps are planned.

The first status seminar took place on 09 December 2021 and the second one on 21 July 2022. They consisted of poster presentations by doctoral candidates.

On the 19th and 26th of January 2023, the status update meeting took place in form of science slams. The doctoral candidates presented a series of short talks about their projects. Science slams are a form of science communication where scientists present their research in an entertaining and engaging way to a non-expert audience. At the end of the meeting, the candidates gave feedback to each other and voted for the best “slammers”.
