LNOS 2021

The “Long Night of Science” takes place every two years in the metropolitan region of Erlangen-Nuremberg. Due to the pandemic, the largest science festival in Germany had to take place on May 21, 2022 instead of October 2021 as originally planned. Around 20,000 visitors took part and the SFB was there for the first time. Together with the department AIBE (Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Engineering) and the ZiMT (Central Institute of Medical Engineering) of the FAU, we exhibited in the rooms of the d.hip (digital health innovation platform) at Henkestraße 127 in Erlangen.

The two booths with their demonstrations were very well attended so that the CRC was able to make itself known outside the university walls. Our contributions were entitled “Ready, Steady, Freeze” and “Show me your face and I’ll tell you how you feel”. While the first one dealt with the sensory recognition of the effects of acute stress on body posture and movements, with the latter the visitors could have their own emotions analyzed by our empathokinesthetic sensor technology.
